Balloon Designs was founded in 1991 by Patty Sorell.  After trying her hand at being a balloon entertainer (twister), she realized that although she loves to create, her passion lies behind the scenes and not in front of an audience.  As Balloon Art was in its infantcy, Patty was taking classes, attending conventions and creating award winning designs for competitions and clients alike. In 1993 Patty earned her Certified Balloon Artist  designation from the Qualatex Balloon Network, and in 1995 Patty won 2nd place in the industry's most prestigious event, the International Balloon Arts Convention.

Now 25 years later, Patty is a recognized industry leader and Instructor.   In 2010 Patty received the Balloon Designer of the Year award from the Float Balloon Convention,and subsequently received the Cheesman Lifetime Acheivement Award for her work as an industry leader, Instructor and Balloon Artist.

Patty has several DVD's which teach other aspiring balloon artists and still attends as many conventions and classes as she can.

In addition to her thriving business and teaching, Patty, along with her husband Royal produce the premiere Balloon Entertainer's Convention 'Twist & Shout'
